SYDNEY-Israeli President Reuven Rivlin Friday arrived in Sydney on a week-long State Visit to Australia, at the invitation of the Governor General David John Hurley to cement the exemplary relations between two nations.
This is the President Reuven Rivlin first official visit to Australia, and the first visit by an Israeli head of state in 15 years.
In the first leg of his visit, President Reuven Rivlin met with Gladys Berejiklian, Premier of New South Wales and discussed various aspects of bilateral ties.
President Reuven Rivlin has a busy schedule and besides visiting Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra, he will hold bilateral meetings with Governor General David Hurley and Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
President Rivlin is accompanied by a senior business delegation from the Israel Export Institute and the Manufacturers’ Association of Israel. In conjunction with the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce, major trade events will take place in both Sydney and Melbourne.
