PNG to move remaining Manus Island residents

Papua New Guinea’s Minister for Immigration says authorities will be ‘taking steps’ to move the remaining refugees and asylum seekers from the now-closed Manus Island camp.

About 420 men have chosen to remain at the site – living without food, water or medical supplies for almost two weeks.
Meanwhile, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says she has ‘grave concerns’ with Australia’s offshore detention centres.

Ms Ardern says refugees on Manus Island will be her sole focus when she meets with Malcolm Turnbull again this week.
