UAE Ambassador arrived in Canberra, assumed charge

Ambassador of United Arab Emirates Abdulla Al Subousi Monday assumes his Diplomatic Mission as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Commonwealth of Australia following presenting his Letter of Credence to Sir Peter Gosgrove AK MC (Retd) Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia at the Government House.

Deputy Head of mission Matar Ali AL Mansoori was also accompanied the Ambassador.

Upon arrival at Government House, Ambassador Abdulla Al Subousi was presented guard of honour as well.

Governor-General Sir Peter Gosgrove greeted the new Ambassador of UAE and emphasized the close ties between two countries.

Australia and the UAE are enjoying multi-faceted and rapidly growing ties which are underpinned by extensive trade relations, and the UAE is Australia’s largest Middle East trading partner. The two countries enjoy good defence and law enforcement cooperation.

Earlier, Ambassador Abdulla Al Subousi presented a copy of his credentials to Ms Lyndall Sachs, Chief of Protocol of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Commonwealth of Australia.

The Dean of the Arab Ambassadors along with other Arab Ambassadors based in Canberra also welcomed Ambassador Abdulla Al Subousi upon his arrival.
