Saudi Ambassador presented his credentials to President of Fiji

The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Mesaad Ibrahim Al Sulaim Tuesday visited Republic of Fiji and presented his credentials as a non-resident ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Fiji to President of Fiji retired Major General Gyoje Konosi Konrut, in a special ceremony.

President Konrote welcomed the new Saudi Ambassador and noted the strong bilateral relations that both countries enjoy, and thanked the Saudi Arabia Government for its continuous support to the government and the people of Fiji, said a statement issued by the Fijian government.

Saudi Arabia and Fiji established their diplomatic ties in August 2015.

On this occasion Saudi Ambassador Al Sulaim also said that the Saudi Arabian Government is keen to further develop its bilateral relations with Fiji.

Earlier Saudi Ambassador was accorded a guard of honour during traditional welcome ceremony.
