The Ambassador of Thailand Nantana Sivakua visited the Kingdom of Tonga and presented the Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Tupou VI of the Kingdom of Tonga as the non-resident Ambassador of Thailand to Tonga.

Later, Ambassador Nantana, together with Mrs. Salila Tepkasetkul, Director of Thai Trade Centre in Sydney, Mr. Pawat Ruangvichatron, Counsellor, called on Hon. Akilisi Pohiva, Prime Minister of Tonga, Tevita Tui Uata, Minister for Trade and Economic Development, Mr. Mahe Tupouniua, Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Paul Taumoepeau, President of the Tongan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Both sides discussed in details how to enhance relations between the two countries, as well as various measures to expand trade and investment cooperation, said a statement from Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra.

Thai delegation also visited the Agricultural Development Cooperation Project based on the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Sufficiency Economy Philosophy between Thailand and Tonga.

The busy day ended with a delightful evening when Ambassador Nantana hosted a dinner for members of the Thai community in Nuku’alofa.
