Kuwait Ambassador commences his diplomatic responsibilities

Ambassador of Kuwait in Australia Bader Munther Al – Issa has formally took charge of head of Kuwait diplomatic mission in Canberra following presenting his credentials to the Governor General of Australia , retired General Sir Peter Cosgrove last Thursday in a special ceremony held at the headquarters of the Governor General, said a statement by Kuwait embassy.

The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Mohammed Al-Oraifan (Counsellor) and Mr Abdullah Qasem (Second Secretary).

Australia and Kuwait enjoy a friendly and cooperative relationship. The bilateral trade relationship is substantial, with strong potential for further expansion in the energy sector and Kuwait’s investments in Australia are estimated at over $12 billion.

There is considerable scope for Australia to develop further the bilateral commercial relationship with Kuwait.

Later, the Governor General hosted a reception in honour of Ambassador of Kuwait and his delegation.
